Nimal is contracted to WWCSC from the Social Care Institute for Excellence.
Nimal is a registered social worker with 20 years’ experience of statutory children’s social work including youth justice. Nimal was the Strategic Engagement Lead for Social Work England and her role involved developing new regulatory professional and education standards, communications and stakeholder engagement. Previously, Nimal was the Programme Director for the South East London Teaching partnership and developed the national pilot to enhance entry into social work and designed post qualifying CPD frameworks. At SCIE, Nimal is working with the What Works for Children’s Social Care on the Practice In Need of Evidence programme (PINE) by supporting organisations to develop evidence informed practice.
Nimal was educated at Middlesex University for her BA in Social Work and holds a post qualifying MA in Advanced Social Work: Practice Education from Goldsmith University of London. She is an active Practice Educator and teaches at masters level on various management programmes.
Nimal enjoys forest bathing and when she has the time creates mixed media abstract art.
